How we verify certificates

When a restaurant uploads a certification document, our team cross-references it against the issuing body's public database or directly contacts the certification authority. Certificates are time-limited — we re-verify every 12 months and remove badges from any listing with an expired certificate, regardless of plan tier.

How we handle halal flags

Any user can flag a listing as "potential halal concern." Flagged listings are reviewed within 72 hours by our moderation team. If the concern is substantiated, we contact the restaurant and, if necessary, downgrade or remove the certification badge. Restaurants may appeal within 14 days.

Review integrity

All reviews are screened by automated systems and human moderators for spam, incentivised reviews, and coordinated inauthentic behaviour. Reviews from unverified accounts carry a lower weight in our scoring algorithm. We do not allow restaurants to purchase positive reviews.

Data & privacy

We collect only the data necessary to provide our service. We do not sell personal data to third parties. Location data is used only to surface nearby results and is not stored beyond your session unless you explicitly save preferences. Full details in our Privacy Policy.
