Our Story
From frustration to solution
It started with a bad meal. Our founder Rahel arrived in a new city, searched for halal food, and ended up at a restaurant claiming certification it didn't have. That experience — shared by millions of Muslim diners every day — sparked the idea for HalalRate.
Launched in 2024, HalalRate has grown to cover 32 cities across 12 countries, with over 12,400 verified restaurant listings and a community of 124,000 monthly active users.
We partner directly with HMC, HFA, IFANCA, JAKIM and other recognised certification bodies to ensure every badge on our platform represents genuine, current certification.
